eReader Roundtables in March

Past Event ....... March 26th, 2011 — 1-2 pm

Did you get a new ereader as a holiday gift?  Have you borrowed an ereader from a local library and been mystified about how to use it?  Have you been reading away on your new Kindle or Nook or Sony eReader or other device and what to learn about sources for new free titles?

LPL is hosting a monthly series of “eReader Roundtables” aimed at helping readers who are new owners of ereader devices in learning how to use them, download free ebooks and share information with other ereader users.

The sessions will be one hour in length and are scheduled for a variety of times to accommodate a range of schedules:

Wednesday, March 16, Noon-1 PM, Couture Conference Room on the first floor.

Saturday, March 26, 1-2 PM, 3RD Floor Conference Room

“A lot of people have purchased ereaders or received them as gifts over the recent holidays and have questions about how to use them,” said Reference Librarian Ellen Gilliam.  “Other people are looking for advice on what features to look for when buying an ereader.  We’re hoping these sessions will give folks a chance to ask questions and to pick up some tips from library staff and from each other.”

Information wil also be provided about how to use the Maine InfoNet Download Library, a statewide ebook and audiobook service to which LPL, the Auburn Public Library, and Bates College Library subscribe.

Sessions are free and no reservations are required.  For more information, call the LPL Reference Desk at 207.513.3135.
