Holocaust Days of Remembrance

Tuesday, May 3rd at 12 noon in Callahan Hall, Lewiston Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert, Sr. will be hosting a special program in observance of the Holocaust National Days of Remembrance Week (May 1 – 8).  The program will open with the showing of the short film, Justice and Accountability in the Face of Genocide: What Have We Learned, produced by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.  Following the film, the featured speaker will be Falmouth resident, Edith Pagelson.  Ms. Pagelson, a native of Germany, will relate her personal story and that of her family in Worms, Germany in the 1930′s and 1940′s.  Ms. Pagelson is a survivor of the Terezin, Birkenau and Auschwitz concentration camps.

This program is a brown-bag lunch event and is free and open to the public.  No pre-registration is required.  For more information, see the City of Lewiston’s press release or call the Mayor’s office at 513-3000, ext. 3205.
