Let’s Talk About It

Past Event ....... September 15th, 2011 — 6:00 p.m.

Once again this fall we will be hosting another Let’s Talk About It reading and discussion series.  This year’s theme is “Entering Nature: Contemporary Views of the Human Self in the Natural World.”  This program is brought to LPL through the resources and generosity of the Maine Humanities Council with local funding support from the Friends of LPL.

Participation in this program series is by pre-registration only–and is limited to 24 readers–it will fill up, so, if interested, read the details below and sign up by emailing us at LPL@LewistonMaine.gov or calling the Circulation Desk at 513-3134.

The series runs for 4 months with everyone reading the books prior to the discussion session.  The program dates and books are:

Sept 15, The Tree, by John Fowles
Oct 20, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, by Annie Dillard
Nov 17, The Lives of a Cell, by Lewis Thomas
Dec 15, Desert Solitaire, by Edward Abbey

The books are available for loan at the LPL Circulation desk.  All discussion programs will take place at 6 p.m. in the Couture Conference Room on the first floor of the Library.  For more information, contact the Circulation Desk at 513-3134.
