Great Falls Forum: Maine’s Film Industry

Lea Girardin, Former Director, Maine Film Office, will be presenting a talk entitled, “Visual Media Production: a Diverse and Growing Industry Just Right for Maine,”  on Thursday, February 16th at 12 noon.

As one of the co-founders of Waterville’s Railroad Square Cinema in the late 1970′s and the first director of the Maine Film Office (serving from 1988 through 2010, Lea Girardin has played a pivotal role in the growth of film in Maine and the state’s film industry.  Join Ms. Girardin for an insightful look at the history and future of media production in our great state.

This Great Falls Forum event will take place in the Library’s Callahan Hall from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16th.  All Forum programs are free and open to the public.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch or to take advantage of the Forum’s partnership with Guthries Cafe and order from their menu in advance of the presentation; bottled water, coffee and tea will be available at the Library.
