Author Talk & Booksigning with James Howaniec

Past Event ....... April 26th, 2012 — 6:00 p.m.

Lewiston attorney and former mayor, James Howaniec, will be reading from and talking about his recently published novel, Lisbon Street, in the Library’s Callahan Hall on Thursday evening, April 26 at 6:00 p.m.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.  Lisbon Street, Howaniec’s first novel, is the story of a criminal defense attorney featuring a killer, a love interest and a poignant custody case involving a young Argentinian boy.

The author’s goal in writing the novel was twofold: “I wanted to write a reality-based story about life in poverty on the streets of Lewiston and to write a legal novel that was realistic as possible.”  He spent five years conceptualizing the book, doing most of the writing in the last 18 months.

To reserve a library copy of the book, call us at 513-3134 or go to the online catalog [click here] and click on “Request.”   For more information on the April 26 event, contact the LPL Adult Services Desk at 513-3135 or LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov
