World Tuberculosis Day Event

Past Event ....... March 27th, 2012 — 4-6pm

This World TB Day event will be jointly hosted by the New Mainers Public Health Initiative, Lewiston Public Library, and Maine CDC. The event is planned for Tuesday, March 27, from 4-6 pm in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library. The goals of the event are:

  • Promote awareness of World TB Day (celebrated on March 24th each year)
  • Debut TB video filmed by Hibo Omer (of the New Mainers Public Health Initiative) and Dr. Stephen Sears (State Epidemiologist, Maine CDC)
  • Discuss TB in Maine
  • Debunk common myths about TB
  • Facilitate community dialogue about TB in Lewiston-Auburn and Maine
