Family Dance avec Benoit Bourque et Fils

Past Event ....... May 19th, 2012 — 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Montreal dance master Benoit Bourque will lead kids (age 6+), parents and grandparents in a Quebecois-Style “Barn Dance” with music provided by Bourque’s 22-year-old accordionist son Antoine and a homegrown orchestra of local fiddlers and other Maine musicians. Part of a three-day community residency by Benoit and Antoine, this event is designed for youth and “young-at-heart” adults who would like to learn an assortment of fun and easy French Canadian contra and square dances. Admission: $1.  This event will take place in the Library’s Callahan Hall.
