Freedom Stories: an Evening in the World of Playwright/ Performer Rivera Sun Cook
Past Event ....... May 25th, 2012 — 7:00 p.m.
LA Arts and LPL are partnering to present Poet/Dancer/Performer extraordinaire Rivera Sun Cook in the Library’s Callahan Hall on Friday, May 25th at 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with Art Walk Lewiston Auburn. This will be a free public performance event that you do not want to miss–much more than a reading–a breath-taking embodiment of thirty characters in heart warming stories and soul touching wisdom. [Click here to view Rivera in performance.]
Rivera will be performing excerpts which have been taken from her longer theatrical/dance works. Much of this work has also been extracted and published in two of her books: The Imagine-A-Nation of Lala Child and volume one of Freedom Stories. A book sale and signing of these two works will take place following her performance.
Rivera Sun Cook is the founder and artistic director of Rising Sun Theater & Dance, a highly-acclaimed artistic company based in El Prado, New Mexico. Rivera originally hails from the Lewiston-Auburn area.
