L/A Film Forum: Question One

Past Event ....... November 1st, 2012 — 6:00 PM

On May 6th, 2009 Maine became the first state in this country to legislatively grant same-sex couples the right to marry. Seven months later, on November 3rd, 2009, Maine, through a referendum election, reversed, becoming the thirty-first state in this country to say “no” to gay and lesbian marriage. The Question One documentary chronicles the fierce and emotional battle that took place in Maine during that time.

Question One will be the featured film in the third L/A Film Forum – a monthly series of independent film showings co-sponsored by the Auburn Public Library (APL), Lewiston Auburn Film Festival (LAFF), and LPL.

**This film will be shown at Lewiston Public Library on Thurs, Nov 1 at 6:00 p.m.**

Each L/A Film Forum event will include a film showing followed by a facilitated discussion.

All Film Forum events are free and open to adults. Light refreshments will be served at each film. Beginning in October, the films will be shown on the first Thursday of each month. The following L/A Film Forum will take place on December 6th at 6:00 p.m. at APL.

The L/A Film Forum was made possible by an Outreach Grant from the Maine Humanities Council. For more information on the series, contact the LPL Adult Services Desk at 513-3135 or LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov.
