Past Event ....... October 24th, 2012 — 5:00 p.m.
In recognition of this election season, the Library is hosting a special program in Somali for the Somali community in Lewiston-Auburn. This Wednesday evening, Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m. in Callahan Hall, LPL will be showing a film entitled Voting and the Democratic Process and will hold a question and answer session following the film.
Voting and the Democratic Process provides information on voting eligibility, how to register to vote, and how to vote. The purpose of the film and the program is to explain exactly what to expect on Election Day. The program will be moderated and interpreted by Abdi Musa. Lewiston City Clerk Kathy Montejo will be on hand for the Q&A following the showing.
This special LPL program is being co-sponsored by the City of Lewiston, the Maine People’s Alliance, New Mainers Community Collaborative, and the Somali Bantu Community Association. For details, contact the LPL Adult Services Desk at 513-3135 or LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov
