Our Forum speaker for April is Laura A. Fortman, the Executive Director of the Frances Perkins Center in Newcastle, Maine. Laura will enlighten us on the life and amazing career of Frances Perkins, the first woman to serve in a U. S. presidential cabinet (as FDR’s Secretary of Labor).

This Great Falls Forum event will take place in the Library’s Callahan Hall from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 18th. All Forum programs are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch or to take advantage of the Forum’s partnership with Guthries Cafe and order from their menu in advance of the presentation; bottled water, coffee and tea will be available at the Library.

The Great Falls Forum is co-sponsored by Bates College, the Lewiston Sun Journal and LPL. For more information contact the Library’s Adult Services Desk at 513-3135.
