Candidates-ForumOn Tuesday evening, May 27th at 6:00 p.m. in Callahan Hall, LPL and the Sun Journal are joining forces to present a Candidates Forum featuring the 12 local citizens who are vying for spots on the Lewiston/Auburn Joint Charter Commission.  This is a free, public event and no reservations are required.

In the upcoming June 10 primary election L/A voters will also be weighing in on their choices for the six seats (three from Lewiston and three from Auburn) on the Joint Charter Commission.  Once formed, this Commission will be charged with drafting a plan to make one large city out of our current two municipalities.  Once the plan is completed (the Commission has no deadline)it will be put before the voters who will have the final say.  This up/down vote will have to pass in both cities in order for the new plan to be enacted.

For more details on the proposed Commission and a list of the candidates running, check out this Sun Journal article.

The Forum moderator will be presenting questions to all of the candidates at the event.  Suggestions for questions should be sent to Scott Taylor at the Sun Journal: staylor@sunjournal.com
