NaNoWriMo (Write-In)

Have you ever thought about writing a novel but never been able to make it happen? We want to help! LPL will be participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) throughout November.

NaNoWriMo is an international writing event with over 650,000 participants last year alone! The goal is to start writing a 50,000 word novel at midnight on November 1 and finish it by midnight on November 30.

Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It’s all about quantity, not quality. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes, forgo the endless tweaking and editing, and just create.

Whether you are up for the challenge, or still a bit unsure, come join other local writers for an informational meeting facilitated by local educator and municipal Liaison for the L/A area, Sarah Yasin. There will also be weekly write-ins throughout the month, where participants can meet with other local writers. Please see details below. For more information, please contact the Reference Desk at 207-513-3135, LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov, or check out the official website: www.nanowrimo.org.
