On Sunday, Nov. 9th at 2:00 p.m. Maine author Paul Doiron will present a book talk and reading from his newest work, The Bone Orchard, in LPL’s Callahan Hall. This free public presentation is open to the public and no reservations are required.

The Bone Orchard is the fifth book in Doiron’s series of Mike Bowditch crime novels. His first Bowditch mystery, The Poacher’s Son (2010), won the Barry Award and the Strand Critics Award for Best First Novel and was nominated for an Edgar Award. The latest title again features Bowditch, a former Maine game warden and a current Maine fishing guide, who is drawn into the middle of a criminal investigation following the shooting of his friend and former mentor, Sgt. Kathy Frost.

Doiron is Editor Emeritus of Down East: The Magazine of Maine, having served as Editor in Chief from 2005 to 2013. A native of Maine, he attended Yale University and he holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Paul is a Registered Maine Guide specializing in fly fishing and lives on a trout stream in coastal Maine.

The November 9th book talk is being presented by the Friends of LPL and is part of their annual meeting program.  The talk is open to the public and Friends membership is not required to attend.

Following the talk, copies of The Bone Orchard will be available for sale and the author will be conducting a book signing.  For more information on the program, contact the LPL Reference Desk at (207) 513-3135 or via email at LPLReference@Gmail.com
