You’ve got a manuscript. High five! You’ve been hearing a bit about this independent publishing thing and think it might be for you. You want your work to have a chance of being taken seriously, so you don’t slap your stuff up hastily. Instead, come to this workshop first to help you decide if self-publishing is right for you and whether your manuscript is really ready to go out into the world. This free workshop will take place in LPL’s Jeanne Couture Room on Friday, January 22nd from 3-4 PM.

The Five W’s of Self-Publishing is part of a series of workshops taught by instructor Melissa Walshe, who published her first book, Autumn’s Daughter, in 2014 and will soon be releasing the sequel, Autumn’s Sister. She is a professional copywriter for shines & jecker laboratories, where she is currently developing the website readmaine.com. She has an Ed.M. in language and literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in linguistics from the University of Southern Maine.

All sessions are free of charge and will take place on Fridays from 3-4 PM. You do not need to attend all of the sessions.

The SELF-e Indie Writers Workshops are part of an ongoing joint effort by the Lewiston Public Library and Auburn Public Library to support local writers and promote SELF-e, the new library service that allows any Lewiston or Auburn Public Library cardholder to publish their original ebooks through the libraries.
