On Wednesday evening, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. in LPL’s Callahan Hall, ghostwriter Denis Ledoux will be talking about his latest publication, We Were Not Spoiled: a Franco-American Memoir.  This program is free and open to the public.

We Were Not Spoiled is the memoir of Lucille Verreault Ledoux and was written by her with assistance from her son, Denis Ledoux. The book chronicles the life of a Maine girl from 1921 through to 1951. Raised in a small industrial city, Lucille Ledoux’s life is typical of many Maine Francos of her generation, and as such, is an important addition to our understanding of life in Maine’s ethnic communities in the last century.

This title is the most recent offering of Soleil Press, the publishing arm of The Memoir Network, an organization which helps people to chronicle their lives in writing. Since 1988, the network has assisted thousands of individuals to start and complete memoirs.

Denis is a writer, educator, teacher, autobiography co-author, memoir-writing coach, editor and publisher.  He grew up in a three-generation home in Androscoggin County where stories played an important part of family life.

Copies of the book will be available for sale at this program.  For more information, contact the LPL Adult Services Department at 513-3135 or LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov
