On Thursday, September 10th, from 3-4 PM in Callahan Hall, the Lewiston Public Library welcomes Boston area storyteller Bruce Marcus for an afterschool afternoon of story and story fun! Equally comfortable in and out of rhyme, Bruce will serve up a sampling of his original crowd-pleasing tales and ditties, as well as offer up an opportunity for participants to find their voice and display their wit with super-fun story games and exercises.

Bruce believes story is one of the primary ways human beings make sense of the world around them, is one of the most important and effective means that people use to connect to one another, is the basis of much, if not most entertainment and, as straight-ahead storytelling, is one of the best forms of entertainment. Come connect and be entertained!

Bruce Marcus is a storyteller from the Boston area who has a knack for being in the weird place at the right time. Emphatically referred to as “My son!” by late storytelling legend Brother Blue, Bruce has been sharing his lively, engaging original stories, poems and songs with audiences throughout New England for a quarter century. A story slam winner and popular emcee, Bruce is a member of the Gang of Six that hosts and produces the long-running weekly Cambridge, Mass. series The Story Space.
