World Refugee Day Celebration

World RefugeeOnce again, LPL’s Callahan Hall is the site for L/A’s World Refugee Day celebration.  The event takes place on Thursday, June 19, running from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.  This year’s program will feature stories of courage, friendship and community with images and remarks by National Geographic photographer Amy Toensing & Tree Street Youth.

This special program is free and open to all.  Co-sponsors for the celebration include: the City of Lewiston, Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigration Services, Tree Street Youth, Healthy Androscoggin, Welcoming Maine, The Corner, CEI, Somali Bantu Youth Association, Djibouti Community, United Somali Women of Maine, and Lewiston Public Library.
