Thanks to generous donations from the Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club, we offer free & discounted passes to area museums. They are available to all individuals holding current library cards. We have available only one pass per museum per day. To request a pass, please stop in and see us or call with the day you’d like to go and which museum (or museums) you want to visit. There is a limit of three passes per museum per person in a two month period. Currently we offer passes to Children’s Discovery Museum, (links jump to lower in this page) Children’s Museum of Maine, Maine Wildlife Park, Portland Museum of Art, Southworth Planetarium, and the Seashore Trolley Museum.
We also have Maine State Park Passes and Coastal Maine Botanical Garden passes. Each is for a 1 day loan period. The Park pass allows everyone in a single vehicle into the park at no charge. The Gardens pass is for 2 adults. They can be checked out by anyone with a library card in good standing. You may check if either pass is available by calling the Children’s dept at 513-3133, or online: State Park pass or Botanical Gardens pass. If the pass is available, we can hold it for you for today only. To learn more about the pass, go to http://www.maine.gov/doc/parks/programs/parkpasses.html
