LPL Kids has many different programs for children of all ages and their families to enjoy! To see what is happening this month check out our Events Calendar.
Baby Time – Babytime is a fun way to introduce very young children to the library, books, and reading. Babytime features short stories, action rhymes, and songs and is for children from birth to 18 months. Thursdays 10:30-11.
Toddler Time – Toddler Time jumps off from Baby Time and is designed for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers. Toddler Time encourages language development and builds fine and gross motor skills through stories, rhymes, fingerplays and more. Wednesdays 10:15-10:45.
Story Time – Storytime continues from where Toddler Time breaks off in introducing children to books and reading! Storytime is a fun program featuring stories, rhymes, and a craft and is for children aged 3 to 5. Tuesdays 10:30-11:30.
Pajama Time – Children and families are invited to join us every Tuesday evening at 6:00pm, beginning January 20, for a fun informal family storytime! We’ll be reading stories, singing songs, and having loads of fun. Pajama Time begins at 6:00 and will last 20-30 minutes. Registration is strongly encouraged to reserve your spot! After School and Weekend Programs
The library features a variety of after school programming for children of all ages! Program dates and times may vary so please check the calendar to be sure the event you are looking for is running. Some events may
have age requirements or limited space, please call the library if you have any questions.
In Be-Tween – In Be-Tween, silly name, fun things to do! A program for kids aged 10 and up who aren’t quite ready for the Teen Room, but are still looking for awesome things to do. From Candy Sushi to Duct Tape to Tech, we’ve got it all… if you’re over 10! Second Wednesday of every month from 4:00-5:00.
PAWS To Read – Read to a … dog?? Yes! Research has shown that when children read aloud to dogs their skills & confidence increase. The dog is an uncritical listener as the children explain the story and work through their vocabulary and comprehension. Space is very limited, so if you would like to reserve a spot, please call the Children’s Dept.
Chess Instruction – Join chess expert Cheri-Ann Parris and learn how to win at chess! Cheri-Ann offers basic instruction to advanced techniques for children of all ages.
ArtVan – Art Van is a mobile art program that brings the arts to children. Jamie Silvestri, Program Manager, is an artist with 18 years of experience. She provides hands-on creative opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun.
Cooking Club – Lots to Gardens presents a series of cooking events including games, simple nutritional instruction, & preparation of an easy snack. Participants will need to sign up at the Children’s Desk. Class size is limited to 8 and this is a very popular program, so call right away!
