In addition to language-learning books, CDs, and DVDs, Lewiston Public Library offers patrons access to two language-learning tools: Mango Languages and Rosetta Stone.
Mango Languages is available both in the library, at home, and on-the-go, with apps available for Android and iOS (Apple) devices. Currently, over 60 foreign languages and 15 English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are offered, with more to come. Click here to get started.
Rosetta Stone, the #1 language-learning software in the world, is available anytime the library is open in one of two small Study Rooms or in our Computer Lab. The languages currently available are English, Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, and Chinese.
Basic ESL improves an individual’s listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a simple to follow, and instructionally proven curriculum.
Students learn English quickly and effectively on relevant topics including: family, home, school and many other topics. In each lesson students learn key vocabulary and how to use that vocabulary in conversation. Click here to get started.
