This Week at LPL
- Living a Life Less Wasteful, Monday, October 25th @ 5:30pm — Julie Olson, co-founder of Zero Waste Maine, will give a virtual presentation about how she reduced her household’s trash by more than 85%, along with a variety of practical skills and strategies viewers can use to reduce their own waste.
- Great Falls Forum with Tom Caron, Thursday, October 28th @ 11am — The 2021-2022 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, October 28th, featuring Tom Caron, studio host of Boston Red Sox baseball on the New England Sports Network (NESN), with a talk entitled “The Golden Age of Boston Sports.” This free, public program will take place virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page.
- Halloween Storytime in the Park, Tuesday, October 26th @ 10:30am — Join us for Storytime in Kennedy Park: a fun, interactive activity for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers that helps introduce children to the world of books, learning, and the library. Early literacy concepts such as print awareness and phonics will be introduced to parents and children as we enjoy stories, songs, fingerplay, and more. Siblings are always welcome.
Next Week at LPL
- Books in a Bind: Accordion Book Workshop, Thursday, November 4th @ 4:30pm — Participants will create a single sheet folded accordion book with pockets, perfect for love notes, business cards, or any fun paper ephemera. Several books can be made in this two hour class and each student will leave with printed instructions on how to continue creating folded books on their own at home.
