The Maine Arts Commission is holding a community conversation and focus group on Tuesday morning, July 29th in the Lewiston Public Library’s Callahan Hall.  Two sessions will be held, the first from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the second from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

MAC is in the early stages of creating a cultural strategic plan and the Lewiston conversations are two of several that are being held across the state this summer to gather input for the planning.  The goal of these gatherings is to  achieve  a  clearer  understanding  of  what  Mainers  think  about  arts  and  cultural  development  and   what  they  most  value  in  terms  of  future  opportunities,  activities  and  offerings.  The content of both of these sessions is identical, allowing for two different times for local residents to participate.

The Lewiston conversations are being co-sponsored by Arts & Culture Lewiston Auburn, a collaboration of central Maine organizations that present and promote arts and cultural offerings in L/A and maintain a cultural events calendar on their website.
