LPL To Go
LPL To Go is still available!
Although we are now fully reopened, LPL To Go is still available for hold pick-up. Simply call the Lending desk at (207) 513-3134 when you arrive and staff will check out your items and meet you at the Pine St. door.
- Library card or photo ID are required for pick-up.
- Reserve up to 10 library items by using our online catalog, emailing our librarians, or calling the Lending Services desk at (207) 513-3134. Lewiston and Auburn library cardholders can place requests for holds on both locally-owned items and items from other Maine libraries.
- Normal hold notifications processes of phone call, email, or text message are in place based on your designated preference.
- When you have been notified that your hold is available, you may stop by the library during the following hours for pick-up:
- Mon-Thurs: 10am-6:30pm
- Fri & Sat: 10am-4:30pm
As before, if you would like an item from our collection, please call us at (207) 513-3134 in advance of arriving so staff have time to accommodate this request. Don’t forget that our librarians are always happy to make recommendations or select an assortment of books based on a genre or theme preference!
Our librarians are available to take your calls Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-5pm. We are expecting a higher than normal call volume; please leave a voicemail with your call back number if we can’t take your call right away, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we are able.
FAQs
- Can I order items from other libraries? Yes! These holds can be placed using the online catalog or by calling the Lending Services desk at (207) 513-3134. Maine Reciprocal Borrowing Program is also back in a limited capacity, so you can use your LPL card at other libraries across the state.
- When will my items be ready? Please allow up to 36 hours from the time you place your request, but we’ll move as fast as we can. You may call the library at any time to ask about the status of a hold.
- Can I pay my audiovisual fees during pickup? For your safety and ours, we ask that you consider paying fees for movies and audiobooks by credit card over the phone. If that is not possible, we can accept payment during pickup. As a reminder, the Library went fine free on July 1 so overdue fines are no longer collected.
- How many items can I request? There is a 10 item hold limit per library card.
- How long can I keep my items? 2 weeks for books, audiobooks, CDs, and documentaries | 3 weeks for TV shows | 1 week for movies.
- What’s LPL To Go Printing Service? If you need to print a document but don’t have a printer, we can help! LPL can now print online forms, reference requests, and your files (sent to us via email) for curbside pick-up. For more information, contact the Adult and Teen Services Department at (207) 513-3135 or LPLReference@gmail.com.
