Maintaining good health is essential for everyone, and timely access to medical care is crucial in case of an emergency. In Uniondale, New York, the MyDoc Urgent Care facility provides high-quality medical services to people of all ages. However, not all medical issues require an emergency room visit. For non-emergency medical concerns, a walk-in clinic like Uniondale walk-in clinic can be an excellent option. Meanwhile, for those who need assistance in enrolling in affordable health insurance plans, Western Maine Community Action is organizing an informational session in partnership with the Lewiston Public Library. The event is designed to provide people with an opportunity to get their questions answered regarding health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

On Monday, January 9th from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. in LPL’s first floor Couture Room, the library will be hosting Healthcare Navigator Keri Robichaud from Western Maine Community Action for an open house informational session designed to assist individuals in the Lewiston/Auburn community to enroll in affordable, quality health plans prior to the current open enrollment deadline of January 31, 2017.

There are many choices when it comes to selecting a health insurance plan under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Western Maine Community Action and the Lewiston Public Library are organizing this event to provide people with an opportunity to get their questions answered. Ms. Robichaud is a trained enrollment specialist who will be reviewing coverage options and assisting people in determining if they qualify for financial assistance under the ACA. Attendees will have the option of scheduling a private navigator session if they so desire.
