On Saturday, October 26th, join M.F.A., author, poet, and writing guide Catharine H. Murray for a free memoir-writing workshop: “Writing the Stories of Your Life with Catharine H. Murray.” This workshop will take place from 1:30-3:30 in the Library’s 1st floor Jeanne Couture Room.

“Writing the Stories of Your Life” provides the tools you need to tame the chaos of memory into the order and beauty of memoir. Writing exercises, lecture, and discussion will open the door to knowledge and inspiration for writing your own memoir. The workshop is open to anyone who wants to write and has a story to tell.

Catharine H. Murray’s recently released memoir, Now You See the Sky (Akashic Books, 2018), has been described as “a tender, love-filled story” by Kirkus Review and “an extraordinary memoir, forthright, honest and haunting” by the Portland Press Herald. In January of this year, it topped their best-seller list for Non-Fiction.

Venues for Murray’s workshops and talks have included Harvard University, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Maine State Prison, Virginia Festival of the Book, and the University of New England.

This workshop is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registrations are required. To register, contact the LPL Adult & Teen Services desk at 513-3135 or LPLReference@Gmail.com.
