What’s New?
- Museum and Park Passes Now Available!
- May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month — Kanopy has curated a collection of films that celebrate the rich and varied histories of these communities in the United States. These films address a range of topics including historical events, cultural milestones, and impactful leaders.
- Draw Your Dream — Draw us a picture of your hopes and dreams and we will hang it up in the Children’s Department! This program is inspired by the Lewiston/Auburn Read book, Front Desk by Kelly Yang.
This Week at LPL
- Make Art with ArtVan!, Wednesday, May 4th @ 3:30pm — ArtVan is a mobile art program that brings hands-on creative art opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun. All of their projects aim to inspire art-making with a variety of materials to explore.
- Teen Tabletop RPGs, Thursday, May 5th @ 4pm — This month we will be playing two sessions of THE QUIET YEAR, a map game where players define the struggles of a community living after the collapse of civilization, and attempt to build something good within their quiet year.
- Book Boxes : Rainforest Adventure — Free activities and books for kids to keep!
Next Week at LPL
- Tea Party and Book Discussion, Tuesday, May 10th @ 4pm — Join us in Callahan Hall (3rd floor of Lewiston Public Library) to enjoy a cup of tea and talk about our favorite moments in Front Desk. Everyone will leave with their own glitter pencil. All ages are welcome! No registration required.
- The Art of Letter Writing, Saturday, May 14th @ 11am — Join us in Callahan Hall for a more formal way to connect with others through the art of letter writing. Write a letter to a family member, to thank someone, or make a difference in the world! All supplies provided, including postage for one letter per person and addresses provided for local nursing homes. This event is for all ages!

- Great Falls Forum, Thursday, May 19th @ 12pm (virtual) — Our next Great Falls Forum will feature moderator Judith Meyer, Executive Editor for the Sun Journal, Kennebec Journal, and Morning Sentinel, alongside David Chittim of the Androscoggin Historical Society, and Steve Collins, State House Reporter for the Sun Journal, with a talk entitled “175 Years of Recorded History—Through Journalism.”
