What’s New?
  • New Display: Staff Favorites — Located on the first floor. Your librarians read a lot of books, watch a lot of movies and documentaries, and listen to a lot of audiobooks and music. It was hard to narrow our favorites down to just a few each. Come check which ones we loved the most!
This Week at LPL
  • Author Talk with Jennifer Dupree, Tuesday, May 17th @ 5:30pm — Author, librarian, and freelance-editor Jennifer Dupree will be celebrating the release of her novel The Miraculous Flight of Owen Leach. This free, public program will also include a book sale and signing.
  • Front Desk Trivia Night, Wednesday, May 18th @ 4:30pm (virtual) — Grab some snacks and get ready to be quizzed! Gather your friends and family around any device that can connect to the internet to play our quiz game.
  • Great Falls Forum, Thursday, May 19th @ 12pm (virtual) — Our next Great Falls Forum will feature moderator Judith Meyer, Executive Editor for the Sun Journal, Kennebec Journal, and Morning Sentinel, alongside David Chittim of the Androscoggin Historical Society, and Steve Collins, State House Reporter for the Sun Journal, with a talk entitled “175 Years of Recorded History—Through Journalism.”
  • Teen Tabletop RPGs, Thursday, May 19th @ 4pm — This month we will be playing two sessions of THE QUIET YEAR, a map game where players define the struggles of a community living after the collapse of civilization, and attempt to build something good within their quiet year.

  • Make Art with ArtVan, Wednesday, May 25th @ 3:30pm — ArtVan is a mobile art program that brings hands-on creative art opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun. All of their projects aim to inspire art-making with a variety of materials to explore.
