What’s New?
- New Featured Shelves on CloudLibrary:
- The Maine Student Book Award is designed to expand literary horizons of students in grades 4-8 by encouraging them to read, evaluate, and enjoy a selection of new books and to choose a statewide favorite by written ballot each spring.
- The North Star YA Award is designed to encourage young adults to read for fun. Maine teens who read 3 or more NSYA books are eligible to vote for their favorite book at their school or public library each spring.
- Our last shelf features over 200 ebooks by independent authors that are always available with no wait times. This collection has just been updated with hundreds more titles!
This Week at LPL
- Teen Tabletop RPGs, Thursday, June 2nd @ 4pm — LPL Teen will be hosting a series of one-shot tabletop roleplaying games, in person in the teen lounge on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 4-6pm, from April-June. Supplies will be provided – just bring yourself and your creative mind!
- Read ME Kick-off on Maine Calling, Friday, June 3rd @ 11am — Read ME is a statewide summer reading program offered by the Maine Humanities Council and Maine State Library that gets Maine’s adults all reading the same books.
Next Week at LPL
- LPL at L/A Pride Fest, Saturday, June 11th @ 12pm — Staff will be at the park to share books, resources, summer reading programs, and host a family-friendly Storytime at 1pm. Stop by and take a reading break with a few of our favorite LGBTQ+ books!
