What’s New?
- This week’s Summer Reading theme is “The Beach.” Turn trash into treasure by making jellyfish out of egg cartons, yarn, and beads! Kids can stop by our program room anytime this week to make their own.
- Two Weeks Left for Summer Reading! This year’s theme is Oceans of Possibilities, and the program will run until August 13, with events and reading programs for children, teens, and adults.
This Week at LPL
- Boppa Chua, Tuesday, August 2nd at 5:30pm. New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Marc Black, will be our guide through an evening of song, storytelling, and laughter through these two historically defining decades.
- Teen Tabletop RPGs, Thursday, August 4th at 4pm. This week we will be playing Sign: A Game About Being Understood, where players create their own language through completely silent gameplay.
Next Week at LPL
- Whales of the World, Monday, August 8th at 5:30pm. Marine Mammals of Maine will give a presentation of the various types of whales present in the world and the struggles they face in everyday life and during a stranding.
- Landing the Lobster, Wednesday, August 10th at 4pm. Hear stories from Maine fisherfolks, learn about lobster biology and find out cool facts about lobsters from the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
- Summer Celebration, Saturday, August 13th at 11am. Come join our end of summer reading celebration for games, crafts, giveaways, prizes, mini-golf, and a frozen sweet treat! We’ll also have fun photo opportunities with mermaid tails, pirate treasure, shark heads, and giant fish!
