What’s New?
- Library Closed for Carpet Installation. The library will be closed to the public on Friday, October 28th through Saturday, November 5th, and will reopen on Monday, November 7th. The Library will be installing new carpeting in various parts of the building and will not be accessible during this time.
- The Library is Hiring. The Lewiston Public Library is seeking friendly and assertive individuals with excellent customer service skills to work at the library public service desks.
- Bendable Maine. Bendable is a robust learning marketplace, brought to you by the Maine State Library. It allows Maine residents of all ages and backgrounds to easily discover and access content that is just right for them on a wide variety of subjects and then acquire new knowledge and skills through online courses as well as local, in-person learning opportunities.
Next Week at LPL
- Great Falls Forum, Thursday, November 10th at 12pm. The 25th season of the Great Falls Forum continues with a panel discussion entitled “Overlooked Stories and Histories: African Americans in Maine.”
- Teen Magic: the Gathering Club, Thursday, November 10th at 3pm. Library staff and volunteers will be available to teach new players and coach developing ones.
- The Library will be closed on Friday, November 11th, in honor of Veterans Day.
- Rhythm, Rhyme, and Storytime, Saturday, November 12th at 11am. Dance, sing and play in this music and movement storytime.
Mark Your Calendar
- Speculative Fiction Book Group, Thursday, November 17th at 5:30pm. Our November selection is This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone, a science fiction story. Discussion will be led by a Lewiston Public Librarian and will feature open-ended questions and the opportunity for analysis and debate.
