What’s New? 
  • Registration Open! Great Falls Forum, Thursday, November 16th at 12pm. “Preserving Maine History, One Rustic Cabin at a Time.” The 2023-2024 season of the Great Falls Forum continues, featuring Ryan Eldridge from Maine Cabin Masters and Kennebec Cabin Company.
  • Large Print Books for Kids. The Children’s Department now has Middle Grade large print books to check out! Both fiction and non-fiction are available.
  • The Library will be CLOSED on Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. We will reopen at 9:30am on Monday, November 13th.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • The State of Maine Birds, Wednesday, November 8th at 11am. This presentation covers the last few decades and discusses which species are disappearing, which are increasing, and then looks ahead to identify what the future of Maine birds might look like. 
  • Teen Yoga for Stress, Thursday, November 9th at 4:30pm. This series is designed to teach and support teens in skills they can use to manage stress and relax.
  • Film Screening with Community Connect Maine, Thursday, November 9th at 5:30pm. The Library will be hosting Community Connect Maine for a screening of Invisible: Personal stories from the front lines of disability, a short video collection focusing on the lived experience of Mainers with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families and caregivers as told in their own voices. 

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • NaNoWriMo Workshop for Teens, Thursday, November 14th at 4pm. Are you ready to start writing your first screenplay or novel? If so, make this your NaNoWriMo goal for 2023! Join us in the Teen Room to share your ideas and enthusiasm while working toward your self-established writing goal for the month. 
  • Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club, Wednesday, November 15th at 3:30pm. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month kids will have the opportunity to create a hands-on fiber arts craft with local fiber artist, Sadie.
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, November 15th at 5pm. Have a craft you started that is now collecting dust? Ever admired a craft and wondered if anyone could teach it to you? Want a second opinion on a template or a crafting kit? The Library is hosting a crafting circle for people to come and bring a craft to work on. Come, meet, and learn from like-minded people.
