What’s New?
  • Registration Open : Great Falls Forum, Thursday, March 20th at 12pm. Wabanakis Then and Now. Join Maulian Bryant, in conversation with Bates College history professor Joseph Hall, as they discuss the past, present, and future of indigenous peoples in Maine.
  • Bikes and Scooters on the Ceiling! March Madness with the Masons, Happening Now! It’s the 3rd annual March Madness with the Masons! This Masonic Lodge literacy program is for children in Lewiston and Auburn and will give away brand new bikes, Kindle Fire tablets, scooters and fishing kits.
  • Crystals finished growing! Stop by the Children’s Department and check out the crystal garden in the display case. Any child that would like to take home the crystal they created is welcome to at this time.
  • Watch February’s Great Falls Forum on YouTube. Former Chief Justice Wathen, in conversation with Sun Journal politics and history reporter Steve Collins, will discuss the events of October 25th, 2023 and the findings of the commission which investigated the response to the tragedy.
  • 2nd Floor Displays
    • The library’s 2nd floor has a selection of fiber arts books on display highlighting our upcoming Yarn Swap.
    • Celebrate Irish American History Month with us in the Reference Department by checking out a green cookbook!
  • Children’s Room Display. Celebrate the month of Ramadan by reading the books from the display in the Children’s Department. Explore Muslim traditions, religious journeys, and timeless lessons in this Ramadan book collection.

  • Resume Workshop, Tuesday, March 11th at 11am. The CareerCenter will provide interactive resume writing guidance.
  • ArtVan, Wednesday, March 12th at 3:30pm. ArtVan is a mobile art program that brings hands-on creative art opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun. All of their projects aim to inspire art-making with a variety of materials to explore.
  • Little Masterpieces Mess-Free Painting, Friday, March 14th at 10am. Caregivers will be able to help their babies create a work of art using a technique to limit the mess of traditional finger-painting while still providing babies the tactile experience and visual stimulation from manipulating paint on paper.
Next Week @ LPL
  • Yarn Swap, Wednesday, March 19th at 2pm. Over the years, the library has accumulated a collection of leftover yarn. Drop by to trade your unwanted yarn collection with us and your fellow crafters. All yarn colors, styles, and quantities are welcome!
  • Teen Art Club, Thursday, March 20th at 3:30pm. Teens can work on any artistic project they wish. Supplies will be free and available for all teens.
