The library will offer a parks-themed BINGO card for our Summer Reading Challenge. This will coincide with our usual Read, Make, Explore themed activities bookmarks. Summer Reading BINGO will run from Monday, July 1, 2024, to Saturday, August 10, 2024. BINGO cards will not be accepted after closing time on August 10, 2024. Participants may download a PDF copy of the BINGO card from the library website or pick up a copy at the library at the first floor Lending Desk. BINGO cards will be available in June but may not be turned in until the July 1^st starting date.

Participants should go to a State or National Park, Maine Wildlife Park, Botanical Gardens or Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary to complete the tasks on the BINGO Card. The Lewiston Public Library offers passes that can be checked out on the 3rd floor of the library to anyone wishing to visit a State Park, or The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens  for free or Maine Wildlife Park for a discount. When participants achieve “BINGO” they will turn in their card to the Lending Staff on the first floor in exchange for three Summer Reading Bookmark Raffle tickets. BINGO will consist of five completed squares going vertically, horizontally, or diagonally across the BINGO card. Participants may only turn in one completed BINGO card per person. Summer 2024 Adult Summer Reading prizes are a picnic bag with a grocery gift card, a hydration backpack with a Devil’s Grove gift card, and a wooden cribbage board carved into the State of Maine.

When is Summer Reading BINGO?

What is the prize?

A completed BINGO card will get 3 Summer Reading Bookmark Raffle Tickets. Summer Reading Bookmarks, when turned in to the first floor Lending desk, become raffle tickets for the adult summer reading prizes. Summer Reading prizes consist of: a picnic bag with a grocery gift card, a hydration backpack with a Devil’s Grove gift card, and a wooden cribbage board carved into the State of Maine

Do I have to have a library card to participate?

This is open to anyone 18 and older in the greater Lewiston area. (Staff of the Lewiston Public Library may not be entered into the raffle for the Adult Summer Reading prizes, but may still participate in the BINGO challenge if they wish.)

Do I have to show you my pictures?

No, you do not have to show staff your pictures, but we would love to see them if you want to share them with us.
