Building Community Through Dance and the Arts
The Great Falls Forum season opens this fall with dance artists from the nationally-renown contemporary dance company, Urban Bush Women presenting a talk on Building Community Through Dance and the Arts. This Forum lecture will take place on Friday, Oct 25 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Library’s Callahan Hall.
We owe a special thanks to the Bates College Dance Department for sharing these exciting artists with us for this event! UBW will be doing a two-week residency at Bates in late October and although they will not be working with community members during this engagement, they will be speaking to LPL’s Forum audience about the community building work that they have done in other parts of the U.S.
The Great Falls Forum is a monthly speaker series co-sponsored by the Sun Journal, Bates College and LPL. The programs are brown-bag lunch events that are free and open to the public. Coffee, tea and bottled water are available at the lectures.
