  • Jan 22, 2019

On Tuesday, January 22, 2019 (snow date Wednesday, January 23), join the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children and the Lewiston Public Library for a screening of No Small Matter. This free public screening will take place in LPL’s Callahan Hall. Registration is encouraged, but not required, at the following link: https://www.maineaeyc.org/registration/no-small-matter-lewiston.

No Small Matter is the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated, and powerful force for good in America today: early childhood education. Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families, and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country. “A must-see film for educators, parents, leaders, and community members invested in creating a bright future for Maine.”  -Sue Reed, Early Childhood Specialist, Maine Department of Education
