Portland Forward: Citizen Media With a Global Perspective

Our speaker for the October Forum is Mohammed Dini, the Executive Director of the African Diaspora Institute and a leader in the Somali community, both in Portland and nationally. Mohammed was raised in Somalia and Kenya before moving to the United States in 1997. He has studied political science and international studies at the University of Southern Maine and is deeply involved in Maine activism and politics.
This Great Falls Forum event will take place in the Library’s Callahan Hall from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 18th. All Forum programs are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch or to take advantage of the Forum’s partnership with Guthries Cafe and order from their menu in advance of the presentation; bottled water, coffee and tea will be available at the Library.
