Beyond Obamacare: the Future of Healthcare in Maine
Friday, April 17: Dr. Wendy Wolf, President and CEO, Maine Health Access Foundation,”Beyond Obamacare: the Future of Healthcare in Maine.”
The passage of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is driving some of the most profound transformations of our health care industry in the last 50 years. These changes are fundamentally altering how we seek and receive care to remain healthy.
Dr. Wolf will take us beyond sound bites and political rhetoric to lay out what Mainers can expect from our state’s rapidly changing health care landscape, forecast the effects it may have on our economy, and offer some tips on how to be a smarter, more savvy patient armed with a few secrets for a happier, healthier life.
Wendy J. Wolf is the founding President and CEO of the Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF), the state’s largest health philanthropy dedicated to promoting access to quality health care, especially for the uninsured and underserved. Under her leadership, MeHAF has advanced public policy and programs such as leading Maine’s enrollment campaign for the Health Insurance Marketplace, spearheading the development of the most comprehensive statewide electronic health information exchanges in the country, improving the integration of primary care with behavioral health services, and ensuring the voices of vulnerable people guide health policy decisions.
