New England Contra Dance

Join us in the Library’s air-conditioned Callahan Hall for an evening of New England contra and couple dancing. (All dances will be taught and no experience is necessary.) The music will include fiddler Frank Ferrel and pianist Doug Protsik, joined by caller Maggie Robinson. Admission costs are $5 for adults and $2 for students (up to age 22).

Prior to this event (from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.) a family barn dance for all ages will be held featuring fun and easy contra and square dances. The barn dance will feature dance teacher/leader Cindy Larock and a locally-grown, multi-generational folk orchestra. Admission to the family barn dance is $2 for adults and $1 for children and students.
