The Lewiston Public Library will be continuing its Pages & Pints book talk and beer tasting series with author and blogger Ben Keene on Friday, April 25th at 6:00 pm. The free public event will open in the Library’s Callahan Hall with Keene speaking about his book, The Great Northeast Brewery Tour.

The evening will then continue with tours of Baxter Brewing Co. followed by a reception and beer tasting. Forage Market will be providing cheese pairings with the Baxter brews.

The Great Northeast Brewery Tour profiles 62 standout breweries in the Northeastern United States, from Maine to Maryland. Included are histories and interesting facts, along with practical information for travelers, such as nearby accommodations and local dining establishments that focus on craft beer. The book features full-color photographs, as well as a foreword by Garrett Oliver, Brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery and Editor of The Oxford Companion to Beer.

Ben Keene is a freelance writer who has written extensively on craft beer in publications such as Beer Advocate, The New York Times Guide to Essential Knowledge, and Beer Connoisseur. He is also a licensed hiking guide in New York, and has previously published two books on the subject. Keene writes about both of these passions on his blog, http://whereandback.blogspot.com/
