Summer Reading Begins June 21st!

Kids, Teens, Adults! Summer Reading begins on June 21st & the theme is
A Universe of Stories!

Kids can sign up at the 3rd floor Children’s desk to get a prize! Then there will be another prize if you make it halfway through, and finally a big prize if you get all the way to the end of the 6/8 weeks! We will have our famous t-shirts! You have to read 240 minutes every two weeks to keep qualifying.

Teens grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the LPL Teen Summer Reading Program! Teens can sign up at the 2nd floor Reference desk to receive a reading log, an LPL string bag filled with summer essentials, and a free book of your choice. Track your reading all summer (via paper logs or the Reader Zone app) and enter to win one of several grand prizes.

This year, the Teen library will be partnering with our Adult Summer Reading program to offer a series of space-themed events in our 2nd floor IDEA Lab. To see what’s coming up, check out our Calendar of Events.

Adult summer reading is utilizing this year’s Universe of Stories theme to create space- and book-themed programming. Adults can sign up at the 1st floor Lending desk. We will again have physical reading logs as well as the app, ReaderZone for tracking the number of books read. Each participant will receive a book and bookmark upon sign-up and winners will be selected randomly for our raffle prizes which will include gift cards to local eateries, a space-themed prize pack, and a set of DVDs.

The first official week of reading will kick off on Monday, June 24, with an open house launch in the IDEA Lab from 11:00am to 12:30pm and from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. .
