Highlights:
The 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum kicks off on Wednesday, September 16th, featuring Dr. Neil F. Comins, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Maine, Orono, with a talk entitled “What if the Moon Didn’t Exist?” The program will take place from 12 noon to 1 PM virtually via Zoom. Register here to reserve your spot and receive the Zoom link.
Teens and young adults from ages 13-23 are invited to join the “Stamped” Teen Discussion Project based on Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Copies of the text will be provided to participants to keep, and discussions will be hosted by a trained facilitator from Maine Humanities Council. The project will consist of readings from the text coupled with facilitated weekly Zoom discussions from 3:30-5pm on Wednesdays through the month of October. Registration is required and space is limited. Fill out the form to sign up or contact Harper at hchance@lewistonmaine.gov for more information.
