Highlights:

Teens and young adults from ages 13-23 are invited to join the “Stamped” Teen Discussion Project based on Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi.  The project will consist of readings from the text coupled  with facilitated weekly Zoom discussions from 3:30-5pm on Wednesdays through the month of October. Registration is required and space is limited. Fill out the form to sign up or contact Harper at hchance@lewistonmaine.gov for more information.

Our last Book Chat was all about International Authors! You can watch the recorded broadcast and follow along with the list of titles we mentioned.

Sign up for the September Teen Book Box for local Lewiston teen readers! Each box will contain 3 brand new books, a book-related gift, and a craft or activity on the month’s theme. We will mail the box to you and all of the books and materials are yours — free and to keep forever! There are a limited number of boxes available each month, so be sure to register ASAP to reserve your spot! The theme for September is “Immigration Stories” – Sign up here!

We kicked off the 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum on Wednesday, September 16th, with a talk by Dr. Neil F. Comins, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University Of Maine Orono, entitled “What if the Moon Didn’t Exist?” If you missed the live session, you still have the opportunity to watch the recording on our Youtube channel!
