November is National Novel Writing Month! Calling all young writers: Join us for NaNoWriMo! This year, we are going VIRTUAL: Zoom write-ins, writing kits that we’ll send to your house, and writing fun on our social media pages. Writing groups are available for elementary, middle, and high school students. Check out our website for information about how to register for your LPL team on the NaNoWriMo website.
The 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, November 19th featuring a discussion between John Baughman, Associate Professor of Politics at Bates College, and Michael Sargent, Associate Professor of Psychology at Bates College, on the topic “Election 2020: What Happened and What Does It All Mean?” The program will take place from 12 noon to 1 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. Read Your Mind: Exploring Mental Health in Teen Books is a monthly, virtual series focusing on teen mental health & wellness. Featuring YA authors and community health experts, we hope to explore complex and common health concerns through the vehicle of Teen books. For information on individual events, please see our website or email Harper at hchance@lewistonmaine.gov. We’ll be adding more events as the school year continues, so check back soon!
