Highlights:

The 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, November 19th featuring a discussion between John Baughman, Associate Professor of Politics at Bates College, and Michael Sargent, Associate Professor of Psychology at Bates College, on the topic “Election 2020: What Happened and What Does It All Mean?” The program will take place from 12 noon to 1 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. LPL is a co-sponsor of Local Writers Read, a literary reading series based in Lewiston, Maine. The series features free themed monthly readings from Maine writers of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The final readings of the season will take place November 20th at 6:00 pm and 21st at 3:00 pm. The theme of the weekend is Hard Exit and both portions of the event will be streamed live to the Local Writers Read Facebook page.

Virtual Author Visit: Saadia Faruqi and Laura Shovan, co-authors of the middle-grade book A Place at the Table, join moderator Hawo Abdille (Lewiston Public Schools) for a discussion about immigration, the first and second generation experience, and being allies to friends from other cultures. The program will take place on Monday, November 23 from 3:30-4:30 PM virtually via Zoom and be streamed to the LPL Facebook page. Register here to attend!

Read Your Mind is a monthly, virtual series focusing on teen mental health & wellness. November’s featured book is The Stepping Off Place by Maine author Cameron Rosenblum.The program will take place on Wednesday, November 25th from 12 noon to 1 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. November Preschool Take & Makes are here! LPL Kids is excited to offer Take & Make kits designed for preschool ages, with kits that include activities for young children who are working on fine motor skills, scissor skills, ABC’s, 123’s, shapes, colors, and more!
