Highlights:

  • Virtual author visit with Lois Lowry: Join Lewiston Public Library and Lois Lowry for a discussion about her two novels published in 2020, On the Horizon and The Willoughbys Return. The program will take place on Monday, December 14th from 3:30-4:30 PM virtually via Zoom. Register here to attend!   • Virtual Storytime & Babytime: Storytime is a fun, interactive activity for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers that helps introduce children to the world of books, learning, and the library. This weekly program takes place on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM via Zoom – to register, please call or email the Children’s Department at 207-513-3133 or lplkids@lewistonmaine.gov
  • Book Chat: Make suggestions, share your thoughts, find resources, and get personalized recommendations from our librarians! Our next book chat is coming up on Tuesday, December 15th at 11:30am. Join us to discuss some of our favorite Books to Keep You Warm this winter!
  • December Preschool Take-and-Makes: This month the theme is SNOW! LPL Kids is excited to offer Take & Make kits designed for preschool ages, with kits that include activities for young children who are working on fine motor skills, scissor skills, ABC’s, 123’s, shapes, colors, and more! To request a kit please email us at lplKids@LewistonMaine.gov, call the Children’s Department at (207) 513-3133, or ask for one if you are here for a browsing appointment.

LPL To Go is now appointment free! We have made a slight change to process and appointments are no longer required for hold pick-up. Simply call the Lending desk at (207) 513-3134 when you arrive and staff will check out your items and meet you at the door. For more information head to the LPL To Go page, email our librarians, or call the Lending Services desk at (207) 513-3134.

Lewiston Public Library is now offering expanded library services inside the building, including limited walk-in  services at specific times! Learn more about computer services and children’s room visits at LPL by Appointment.
