Highlights:

  • Virtual Babytime & StorytimeA fun, interactive activity for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers that helps introduce children to the world of books, learning, and the library. This weekly program takes place on Tuesdays at 10:30am via Zoom – to register, please contact the Children’s Department at 207-513-3133 or lplkids@lewistonmaine.gov
  • Great Falls Forum with Dr. Nirav Shah & Katie Boss The 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, January 21st featuring  Dr. Nirav Shah, Director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, interviewed by local public health professional Katie Boss of Healthy Androscoggin, on the topic “New Year’s Resolutions for Maine’s Health: COVID-19, Vaccines, Mental Health and Looking Ahead.” The program will take place from 1 to 1:45 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. Please note that due to the quickly changing nature of the pandemic, the date and time of this program are subject to change at any time. Check our website for the most current information.   • Book Chat: 2020 Favorites – Join LPL staff for a conversation about what we’re reading, watching, and listening to on Facebook Live. Make suggestions, share your thoughts, find resources, and get personalized recommendations from our librarians! Our last book chat was all about our favorite reads of 2020. You can watch last week’s recorded broadcast and follow along with the list of titles we mentioned.
  • Read Your Mind: You Are EnoughRead Your Mind is a monthly, virtual series focusing on teen mental health & wellness. Featuring YA authors and community health experts, we hope to explore complex and common health concerns through the vehicle of Teen books. January’s featured book is You Are Enough: Your Guide to Body Image and Eating Disorder Recovery by Jen Petro-Roy. The program will take place at 12pm on Wednesday, January 27th virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. The first five Lewiston-Auburn teens to register will receive a FREE copy of the book to keep! Register here to attend!

LPL To Go is now appointment free! We have made a slight change to process and appointments are no longer required for hold pick-up. Simply call the Lending desk at (207) 513-3134 when you arrive and staff will check out your items and meet you at the door.
