Highlights:

  • Green Dot Workshops: Green Dot Lewiston-Auburn is offering 2-hour bystander intervention training using Zoom. These are interactive, last about two hours, and are limited to 15 adult participants per session. Registration is required.
  • Art Van: Thanks to a generous grant from the Lewiston Auburn Children’s Foundation, we are so excited to be able to welcome back ArtVan to the Children’s Department through take & make art kits called ArtBags! You can pick up your very own ArtBag when you schedule a browsing appointment in the Children’s Department or via LPL To Go. No library card required. To schedule a browsing appointment or a pick up, please call 207-513-3133 or email us at lplkids@lewistonmaine.gov.
  • The North Star Challenge: The North Star YA Award is the new teen division of the Maine Student Book Award! Between now and March 31st, 2021, Maine Libraries across the state challenge you to read any 3 nominees of your choosing. Browse the nominees on Beanstack or view the full list here! The North Star Beanstack challenge is open to all ages, but only teen readers (grades 7-12) are eligible to vote and win prizes. Students who read 3 or more NSYA books are eligible to vote for their favorite book at their school or public library in March 2021. Complete 5 challenge badges to earn a prize!   • Great Falls Forum with Andrea Breau: The 2020-2021 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, February 18, featuring Youth Studies scholar Dr. Andrea Breau, on the topic “It’s a lot of pressure for us to understand this stuff: Lessons About Race and Place from Lewiston’s Teenagers.” The program will take place from 12 noon to 1 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. LPL To Go is now appointment free! We have made a slight change to process and appointments are no longer required for hold pick-up. Simply call the Lending desk at (207) 513-3134 when you arrive and staff will check out your items and meet you at the door.
