What’s New?
- Summer Hours at the Library– The library is back to normal summer operating hours.
- Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 7 pm
- Friday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 2 pm
- As always, regular Saturday hours go back in effect after Labor Day, starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021
- Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 7 pm

- Summer Reading Stats Worth Bragging About
- We gave away over 125 books to children, teens and adults
- We distributed 320 animal-themed take and make kits to kids
- So far, 7 prize packs have been given out, but more are coming!
This Week at LPL
- Crafting Relaxation: Homemade Bath Salts and Votive Candle Holders, August 25th @ 3:30pm — Relax and Unwind at the Library with Crafting Relaxation! Make your own bath salts infused with dried flowers, herbs, and essential oils and decorate a votive candle holder to take home and treat yourself to the perfect bath! All materials and instruction will be provided. Space is limited – Registration is Required.
- The Library is Hiring! — We are seeking an individual with excellent customer service, innovative program ideas, and a high level of technology skills. Duties include planning and presenting innovative and engaging programs and services for children from birth through middle school, creating book displays, and collaborating with community partners. The deadline to apply is August 26th at 4pm.
- Summer Book Sale! — For a limited time, books are 10 for $1 and AV items are 5 for $1. All VHS and cassette tapes are free. We have a wide variety of materials from which to choose, updated weekly.
- Virtual Babytime & Storytime — Join Ms. Jackie for our VIRTUAL weekly combo of Babytime & Preschool Storytime: a fun, interactive activity for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers that helps introduce children to the world of books, learning, and the library. Every Tuesday at 10:30am.

- Take Me to the Moon: A Virtual Evening with NASA, September 9th @ 5:30 pm — NASA’s Artemis Project will send the first woman and first person of color to the moon! This exploration will also be the first of its kind as NASA works to establish sustainable exploration and prepare for missions to Mars. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to hear from NASA communication strategist and museum liaison, Patricia Moore, as she talks with us about the Artemis Project and all things outer space!
