LPL Newsletter 8/30/2021

What’s New?
  • The library will be closed on Saturday, September 4th through Monday, September 6th. Be sure to pick up your movies, music, books, and magazines before the long weekend, and get your library card updated so you don’t lose access to our ebooks and eaudiobooks.
  • As always, regular Saturday hours go back in effect after Labor Day, starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021
    • Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 7 pm
    • Friday – Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
  • Help us finish our Bicentennial coloring banner! We’re almost done with the giant coloring banner we created for the Maine Bicentennial Parade and Street Fest last August 21st! If you didn’t get a chance to stop by at the parade (or you did but you’d like to color more), you are welcome to stop by the Children’s Department on the 3rd floor and help us finish! Once it’s complete, we’ll be hanging it up for all to enjoy.
  • Newly added and available now!

Next Week at LPL
  • Take Me to the Moon: A Virtual Evening with NASA, September 9th @ 5:30 pm — NASA’s Artemis Project will send the first woman and first person of color to the moon! This exploration will also be the first of its kind as NASA works to establish sustainable exploration and prepare for missions to Mars. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to hear from NASA communication strategist and museum liaison, Patricia Moore, as she talks with us about the Artemis Project and all things outer space!
